The Tipperary GAA Yearbook is now on sale and retails at 10 Euro. This year’s book which is in full colour contains 224 pages and one of the highlights of the book is the extensive use of photographs. It gives a comprehensive review of all the happenings on the various fronts during 2011. Tipperary’s All Ireland minor football success figures prominently and the exploits of our senior hurlers and footballers are also recalled. There is review of the Tipperary Supporters Club activities. There are the usual reviews of the divisional championships at adult and Bord na nÓg level. Cumann na mBunscoil, Post Primary schools and Third Level Colleges activities receive appropriate coverage. The Camogie section includes an article on Tipperary’s historic All Ireland Under 16 and Under 18 double. The activities for the year in Handball, Ladies Football and Scór are all included. In the Awards Section Paul Curran, Michael Cahill, Padraic Maher and Lar Corbett, our All-Star hurlers, and Jill Horan, Camogie All Star are given prominence, as well as other people honoured throughout the county during the year. The yearbook includes appreciations to John Doyle and Gerry Slevin who passed to their eternal reward during the last twelve months. Scoreboard 2011 gives the results of both club and inter-county championships. The Yearbook is an excellent publication and will give many hours of enjoyment from reading it to our Gaels at home and abroad over the Christmas period. Well done to the Tipperary Publications Committee led by Chairman, Seamus King and Secretary, John Smith on producing another great Yearbook.

‘The Greatest Hurling Story Ever Told’ Comes to Dublin!

The Dublin launch of ‘Doyle: The Greatest Hurling Story Ever Told’ was a great success last Monday week in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel. Liam Hayes and Irish Sports Publishing have kindly made a donation to the Tipperary Supporters Club for every copy sold on the night. The great appeal of the evening was a unique Q and A with some of the great hurling stars of the ‘Doyle era’.
