Callanan to miss league start
From www.hoganstand.com 10 January 2012
Tipperary’s Seamus Callanan will miss the start of the 2012 national hurling league.
The Drom & Inch star will need time-out as he recovers from ankle surgery but Premier County insiders have moved to shoot down suggestions that his championship participation is in doubt.
Callanan will have corrective surgery later this week and rehabilitation will rule him out of action until March.
The 22-year-old, who captained his club to their first Tipp SHC last year, will also miss Limerick IT’s Fitzgibbon Cup campaign.
Special Production in honour of Simon Ryan R.I.P.
To mark the first anniversary of the death of Simon Ryan, our sadly missed Committee Member, a very special production of John Murphy’s The Country Boy will be staged in the Simon Ryan Theatre, Tipperary Excel Centre, Tipperary Town on Saturday 21st January 2012. Your support would be greatly appreciated by Simon’s family and funds raised will go towards the Centre which provides a great community service to Tipperary Town and surrounding areas. Tickets can be booked at a cost of €30 each at the Excel Centre Booking Office by telephone at 062-80250 or email at tipperaryexcel@gmail.com. Also check the Excel website at www.tipperary-excel.com for further details. Accommodation at a special rate for those attending is available at the Ballykisteen Hotel, Limerick Junction.
