Tipperary Excel Art Centre  WW1 Commemoration Programme  – Herald as a Fitting Tribute to The Great War.

Last week  the Tipperary Excel Arts Centre hosted a comprehensive programme of events  to commemorate The Great War. All who visited the centre  were treated to an exciting and innovate series of exhibitions, cinema, war memorabilia displays and talks to commemorate WWI including “Tipperary Remembers 1914 – 2014” musical shows on 24th and 25th July 2014.

These music hall variety concerts, took the audience, many sporting period costume for a nostalgic and stroll and down memory lane of Tipperary during WW1 through the medium of song and dance and humour. In the audience on the Friday evening was local woman Nuala Hayes, who grandfather has fought on the Western Front. Also in the audience was Councillor Michael Fitzgerald, Chairman of Tipperary County Council. The Tipperary  Excel Arts Centre would like to convey  it’s thanks to all the cast and crew, including board member Elaine Fitzpatrick for the amount of time and effort that was put into creating  this programme of events including the “Tipperary Remembers” concert.

It was a fantastic concert full of memories, with slides, songs and stories. Special thanks to Michael O ‘Donoghue who scripted and produced the show accompanied by musical maestro and board member Pat Marnane. Well done to the beautiful ladies who put in fantastic work with their outfits and a special word of thanks to the  WW1 Tea Ladies. The Tipperary Board and Team would like thank all those who supported this WW1 commemoration programme.
