Tipperary Association Dublin-Information Update

Dear Member

Hope you are all well and keeping safe in these strange times.  As most of you will be aware each November we hold an Annual Mass for deceased members and friends of the Association.  For a number of years the mass has been celebrated by Fr. John O’Brien and the Aherne family have given permission to use the upstairs room in the Palace Bar for the occasion.

Unfortunately this year is going to be different, because of the current restrictions imposed due to Covid.  However, Fr. O’Brien has kindly offered to do an online Mass celebration for the Association and Friends.  He will do this on Tuesday 24 November at 7.30 pm from his Church in the Navan Road.   You will be able to tune into the Mass by logging in to,-  Parish of Our Lady Help of Christians Navan Road – and clicking on Web.

It has been the practice each year that we include  the names of all relations  and friends of members who have passed away over the previous year and we will do so again this year.  We have the names of some people but it is likely that we do not have all of them.  So if you know someone whose name you would like to have included please let me know.

This month we commemorate the Centenary of the death of SeanTreacy, Solohead native, who was shot in Talbot Street on 14 October 1920.  The well known Historian and Author, Sean Hogan, has agreed to give a lecture on Sean Treacy and this will be done online on Thursday evening 12 November (this date is subject to confirmation).  Further details will be issued shortly including time and link connection.

In the meantime mind yourselves and keep safe

Pat Ryan

Hon Secy
