Dear Tipperary Supporter

From Tipperary GAA Scene by County Secretary Tim Floyd

Hard luck to our Senior Hurlers in the Allianz Hurling League Division 1 Final last Sunday against Kilkenny. In a thrilling game that went to extra time Kilkenny secured a one point victory with the scoreline 2-25 to 1-27. Despite losing we played with fierce passion and Tipperary supporters went home disappointed but very heartened by the brave display and confident that we have a team that will challenge for Munster and All Ireland honours. We can now look forward to the eagerly awaited Munster championship clash with Limerick on June 1st.

Congratulations to Tipperary Senior Hurling captain Brendan Maher (Borris-Ileigh) who has been voted as the GAA.ie player of the week following his outstanding performance against Kilkenny in Sunday’s Allianz Hurling League Final.

Tipperary Senior Footballers have resumed training in preparation for the Munster Championship meeting with Limerick on Saturday May 31st at 7:00pm in the Gaelic Grounds Limerick.

Tipperary exited the 2014 Electric Ireland Munster Minor Hurling Championship last Wednesday in Cusack Park Ennis going down to Clare with the final score 1-23 to 0-12. Clare already lost narrowly to the defending All-Ireland champions Waterford in the first round at Cusack Park and they will now meet Waterford again for a place in the Munster Final. We express our appreciation to the management team led by Liam Cahill (Ballingarry) whose task was always going to be difficult with just three of last year’s team eligible.
