SENIOR FOOTBALL

Tipperary had a disappointing start to their Allianz Division 4 Football League campaign with a 0-16 to 1-14 defeat to Carlow at Semple Stadium on Sunday in front of an attendance of 500 people. Their next game will be against Waterford on Saturday evening next, February 9, in Dungarvan at 7pm. A victory in this game will be important for promotion chances and will be difficult away to a Waterford team that will be buoyed by their 1-9 to 0-11 victory over Clare in Milltown Malbay last Sunday.
