With the Senior, Intermediate and Minor teams already qualified, preparations for the Munster Hurling Finals are in full swing and the Tipperary Supporters Club is asking all supporters to join up again this year. Membership is €30 and includes car sticker, membership card, a gift of a smart shoulder bag and entry to draws for match tickets. Current members on 7th July will be entered in a draw for five pairs of stand tickets for the Munster Senior Hurling Final. Congratulations to the Tipperary minor hurlers and management on their victory over Waterford by 2-25 to 0-12 in the Munster minor hurling championship semi-final at Semple Stadium on Wednesday night last. Tipperary will play Clare in the final at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Sunday July 15th at 2pm before the senior final between Tipperary and Waterford. Clare defeated Limerick in the semi-final at Ennis last Friday night by 1-19 to 2-14 after extra time. Tipperary and Clare last met in last year’s Munster semi-final at Semple Stadium which Clare won by 3-13 to 1-13. Clare will be seeking their 5th Munster title at this grade and their third in a row. Tipperary will be aiming to win the county’s 37th Munster minor hurling title and the first since 2007. The counties last met in a Munster minor final in 1999 when Tipperary won by 1-13 to 2-7.


The Munster senior and minor hurling finals will be played at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Sunday July 15 at 4pm and 2pm respectively. The Munster Council has announced a €5 discount on all tickets purchased in advance resulting in the following ticket prices: Covered stand €30; Uncovered stand €25; Terrace €15; Family Adult Covered stand €30 – Juveniles €5; Family Adult Uncovered stand €25 – Juveniles €5; Family Adult Terrace €15 – Juvenile €5; Student/OAP – Concession on Stand Tickets only – pay full price and get a refund of €10 at specified Stiles on the day (on production of valid I.D.) All adult and student / OAP tickets will cost €5 extra if purchased on match day.
There will be a limited number of Juvenile Groups available for this game – €3 per Juvenile with a free Adult with every 10 children. Other adults pay €25. All Groups should be booked directly with the County Board Secretary (secretary.tipperary@gaa.ie or 0504 22702). We strongly encourage supporters to purchase tickets in advance to avail of the discounts and to make access easier on match day. Tickets are available through clubs, in Lar na Pairce, Thurles, at selected Centra and Super Valu shops and online via Munster.gaa.ie, ticketmaster.ie and tickets.ie.

Updated directions to Cork Constitution FC approaching from Dublin

Thanks to John Bourke, a Tipp Supporter living in Cork, for these updated directions.
1. Take the2nd exit onto the N25 (signposted South Ring) at the Jack Lynch Tunnel.

2. Take the1st exit (signposted Mahon, Blackrock), then at traffic signals turn rightonto the R852.

3. Continuestraight on this road going past Mahon Point Shopping Centre on the R852.

4. Turn lefton to the skehard road and continue straight until you come to traffic lights.

5. At the traffic lights at the top of the skehard road keep right. You will passby the Silver Key bar – R852.

6. Cork ConstitutionFC is on the left at the top of the hill.


The first round of the county senior hurling championship got underway last weekend with victories for Burgess, Kildangan, Lorrha and Dorrha, Moneygall, Roscrea and Templederry Kenyons. There are two remaining round 1 fixtures to be played – Borrisokane v Aherlow at The Ragg on Satuday July 7 at 7pm and Kilruane MacDonaghs v Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams or Eire Og Annacarty Donohill. If Kickhams are involved it will be played on Saturday July 7 at Templetuohy at 7pm. If it’s Eire Og, then the game will be deferred due to inter-county fixtures. The winners all go to Round 2 of the championship which will also include the 8 divisional semi-final losers. The losers in round 1 go to the Seamus O Riain Cup from which one team will be relegated at the end of the competition. The draw for Round 1 of the Seamus O Riain Cup is as follows: Boherlahan Duall v Holycross Ballycahill; Upperchurch Drombane v Moycarkey-Borris; Carrick Davins v Kilruane MacDonaghs / Eire Og Annacarty / Knockavilla Kickhams; Aherlow / Borrisokane v Golden Kilfeacle. Dates for these fixtures have yet to be confirmed.


Congratulations to the Tipperary senior footballers and management on their fine 1-12 to 0-10 win over Offaly in the All Ireland senior football championship qualifiers round 1 at Semple Stadium last Saturday evening. Tipperary will play Wexford in Round 2 on SaturdayJuly 14th at Semple Stadium at a time to be confirmed. Wexford put up a very good performance in the Leinster semi-final against defending All Ireland champions Dublin before losing by 4 points so they will be formidable opposition for Tipperary.


Good luck to the Tipperary minor footballers for the Electric Ireland Munster minor football final against Kerry at Páirc na nGael, Limerick on Sunday July 8 at 12 noon. The team and management would welcome as much support as possible as they seek to retain the Munster title for the first time since 1935. The Friends of Tipperary Football are running a fun cycle in aid of the Tipperary Minor Footballers on Saturday July 21st. The cycle will start at the Nenagh Eire Og GAA Complex at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh at 9.30am and proceed to Clonmel via Roscrea, Templemore, Thurles, Horse & Jockey, Cashel and Cahir. It will culminate with a family fun day at the GAA Centre in Clonmel commencing at 3.30pm which will include a BBQ, Music and Children’s events. All are welcome to participate for some or all of the 132km route. Entry fee is €20 or sponsorship cards are also available. The June Tipperary GAA Clubs Draw took place last Friday night June 30 in the Norebrook Lounge Clonakenny in the presence of a large attendance. It was a great night for the Fethard club as it sold the winners of both cars. Congratulations to Stephen Fitzgerald who won a Skoda Octavia car or €15,000 and to Mary Shelly who won a Skoda Fabia car or €10,000. Dates and venue details have now been finalised for the Friends of Tipperary Golf Classic (kindly sponsored by Mr. Mister, Cahir & Mitchelstown). It will take place in Cahir Park Golf Club on Friday, 13th July and in Thurles and Nenagh Golf Clubs on the 10thAugust. The top 2 teams at each venue will qualify for the Grand Final in Tipperary Golf Club on Saturday, 18th August. Entry fee is 120 euro per team of 4 or 50 euro Tee Sponsorship.
