Tipp Supporters Club Newsletter 3 August 2012

Congratulations to this weeks winner of Tipp Junior Supporters Club Weekly draw who is Eoghan Hurley from Fethard
Commiserations to the Tipperary senior footballers and management team on their defeat by 1-13 to 0-11 to Down in last Saturday’s All Ireland senior football championship qualifier Round 4 game at Mullingar. While it was very disappointing to lose, the players, management and backroom team can be very proud of their performance in this year’s championship. They represented the county with pride, determination and plenty of skill. The future is worth looking forward to and hopefully further progress will be made in 2013.
Congratulations to the Tipperary intermediate hurlers and management on their 1-18 to 0-17 victory over Clare in the Munster Intermediate hurling championship final played at Nenagh last weekend. The team was captained by Eddie Connolly of Loughmore Castleiney. It was Tipperary’s first title at this grade since 2002. Their next game will be the All Ireland final against Kilkenny or Galway on September 1.
We wish the Under 21 hurlers and management the very best of luck for the Munster final against Clare in Cusack Park, Ennis on Wednesday, August 8 at 7.15pm. The game will be refereed by John Sexton of Cork. Given the expected large attendance   this match will be all ticket and seating will not be reserved. Please note that Juveniles will require a ticket. Supporters are strongly advised to purchase their tickets in advance as we cannot guarantee that there will be tickets for sale on the night due to the demand. Clubs should immediately contact their members and request orders which they will then forward to their divisional ticket co-ordinator in the same way as for all Munster fixtures. The limited stand and sideline seats will not be reserved as they are on a first come first served basis. We urge all Tipperary supporters to book their tickets early and avoid being disappointed. Remember tickets are limited and it’s important we are not outnumbered on the night. Ticket prices as follows:- Adult €15
Student/OAP €10; Juvenile €2; Student/OAP – Concession on the night on full price tickets only – pay full price and get a refund of €5 at specified Stiles on the day (on production of valid I.D.)

Following Portroe securing their first ever divisional senior hurling title in North Tipperary last Sunday week, the Mid and South senior hurling titles went to more regular homes last weekend with victories for Thurles Sarsfields and Mullinahone. Sarsfields, thanks to an amazing feast of goal scoring from placed balls and general play by Pa Bourke, defeated a stunned Loughmore Castleiney by 7-16 to 2-13 at Templemore. In the South Eoin Kelly scored 1-11 as Mullinahone defeated Carrick Swan by 1-17 to 2-9 at Clonmel Sportsfield. Well done to the officers of both divisional boards on the excellent arrangements in place for both finals.
