Tipperary senior hurlers will go back to training tommorrow night

12 January 2011

Tipperary’s senior hurlers will return to training for the first time since last September’s All-Ireland SHC success over Kilkenny.

The squad is set to go back to training tomorrow night under new manager Declan Ryan as they prepare for next weekend’s Waterford Crystal game against Waterford, after from returning from their team holiday in Jamaica, where they met three-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt.

As with the Kerry footballers last year, Bolt’s sponsors Digicel hosted an event at Chukka Adventure Centre in Trelawny, which saw the 100 metre world record holder greet the Tipperary travelling part.

“It was a pretty brilliant occasion,” said Tipp midfielder Shane McGrath. “We swapped jerseys and had a good few photos taken with him. We sat down with him for a bit of grub and he’s a real down to earth guy. We’d a few pucks as well and there was no fear in him.”
