More good news came the way to juvenile Bórds this week when a motion passed at congress has ceased U/16 participation at minor grade.
Over the last number of years some U 16 players being on county minor panels played havoc to the concluding stages of both our U 16 Football and Hurling championships.
Managements at minor level often prevented panel members who were not utilised on the pitch from playing in their own grade at Bórd na Nog level. It was infuriating to witness how much disregard / respect that was shown to juvenile Bórds/clubs.
Over the past number of years there have been a lot of views/ideal talk aired on player burn out but no action, this latest move in preventing u16s participating at minor is a first step in helping to solving this important issue
Coupled with the reinstallation of U 12 action to championship style and this latest congress decision are very welcomed to all within Coiste na Nog.
Over the past numbered of years we are very appreciated to the Tipperary Supporters Club for their financial assistance in sponsoring our U/16 Inter County Hurling Tournaments.
Each year they allocate a number of tickets for us to sell for membership to the Supporters Club as this is one of their main sources of income and as we all know the Supporters Club provides a lot towards the requirements to our SeniorCounty teams
We appeal to all divisional secretaries / general public to purchases Supporters Club membership tickets from our treasurer Catherine Gleeson. Catherine can be contacted on 087-9177233 .By purchasing from any officer within Coiste Na Nog it also provides us with some additional revenue so we earnestly appeal to all to answer this call please.
The Pro can be emailed at neiloriain@hotmail .com for any further information on this issue
Our county action hopefully gets lift off with the fixtures for our interdivisional football are being hosted within the north division this coming weekend..
