Tipperary manager Eamon O’Shea yesterday hinted that Lar Corbett may be ready to play a role in the Munster championship game against Limerick on Sunday week.

The 2010 hurler of the year had a straitened season last year, getting sent off in the league final, breaking two ribs in the process which reduced him to just two minutes against Limerick and then pulling a hamstring against Kilkenny in Nowlan Park.

Injury This season has been more about the physiotherapy bench than the field as well, with a persistent and evasive knee injury keeping him out of the league.

But he has recently resumed playing, coming on for Thurles Sarsfields in a club league match and successfully completing a closed shop challenge against Waterford, leaving O’Shea optimistic that he can feature.

“I wouldn’t be ruling anything out with Lar. Or in. So we will see. And that is the best I can give you.

“He has been doing fine. He has had bits of matches and so on but he hadn’t done a lot before that.

“That will be a judgement for next week.

“We won’t be announcing our team until Saturday night so it could be as late as that. But it is borne out of match practice.”
