Tipperary’s Lar Corbett

Hurler of the Year Lar Corbett has committed himself to club and county in 2011 after launching his new business.

The star of last year’s All-Ireland final was out of work and had considered his options, which included moving to find work which could put a halt to his intercounty career.

However, the news that he has opened his new business at Coppinger’s Bar, Thurles, county Tipperary will come as a huge relief to all Tipperary fans.

Lar Corbett’s Bar @ Coppinger’s Bar will be officially opened by former Tipperary senior hurling team manager Liam Sheedy at 8pm on Saturday, April 16, with Paul Collins of Today FM acting as MC on the night.

“These are difficult economic times for everybody. I’m not the only player on the Tipperary panel currently out of work. But there is an opportunity here to start a new business with Kevin Coppinger,” said Corbett.

“It means that I can stay at home and continue to hurl for my club Thurles Sarsfields and Tipperary.”
