John O’Connor brings good luck to Tipperary as Team Mascot

John O’Connor (10) from Portroe was guest of honour for Tipperary’s win over Limerick in the NHL on Sunday.  John and his family got a complementary car pass and match passes for the game and they all had a great day out.  After sitting beside his favourite player Eoin Kelly, captain, for the team photograph John joined Eoin and Limerick captain, Stephen Lavin, for the toss with referee Diarmuid Kirwin.  Eoin asked John to pick for the toss and he won with Eoin choosing to play into the Killinan end for the first half.

John then joined the Tipp FM live commentary team and he was interviewed by Paddy Finucane both before the game and at half time.  John met both Marty Morrissey and Brian Carthy also.  John won the prize as a Junior Member of the Tipperary Supporters Club.  You can become a free Junior Member of the Club by logging in to  .
