John Carroll takes the reins at Colt

Former Tipperary hurler John Carroll has been confirmed as manager of Colt’s senior hurling team for the 2009 season.

Carroll, who is a former All-Ireland winner with the Premier County, retired from the game at the age of 31 and will now try his hand at management the Raheen side, who captured the county intermediate championship last year to make a return to senior level in the O’Moore County after 29 years in the wait.

Colt had been on the look out for a new manager after John Taylor shocked many by stepping down from his position in the club, citing a break from management as the reason, and the club are considered to have pulled off a major coup by landing the ex-Tipp attacker.
