County SH Quarter-Finals Round Up and Semi Final Draw

Kildangan 1-13 Toomevara 1-22

Round-up – Toomevara produced a power packed performance in the second half to easily win this Quarter-Final by 9 points. There was just 1 point in it at half-time but Toomevara opened with 1-6 in the opening stages of the second half to just a point for Kildangan and that effectively ended the match. Kildangan have much to be proud of after winning the North title but Toomevara have shown they remain a force in Club hurling in Tipperary and no one will look forward to meeting them in the semi-finals.

Round-up – After a quiet enough first half, this match roared in to life in the second half. Mullinahone looked quite lethargic in the first half and trailed by six points at half-time but the South team scored six unanswered points to level the scores after 41 minutes. From there on, it was nip and tuck with Clonoulty edging in front with Mullinahone always pegging back the lead and in the 58th minute, helped by five points from play by Eddie Carey, Mullinahone took the lead for the first time. However, Clonoulty did not give and two massive points by Tom Butler (he scored six in all) ensured that it is Clonoulty who go through to the semi-finals.

Round-up – a drab first half was followed by an entertaining second half before Loughmore eventually put their foot on the gas in the last quarter to run out five point winners. After being six points down early in the second half, Cappawhite did very well to come back and take a one point lead with 14 minutes to go. However, two points by Martin Gleeson put Loughmore back in front and a goal by Micheal Webster proved to be the turning point to put Loughmore on their way back in to the County Semi-Finals. Loughmore will need to improve though on this performance as they were made to work all the way by a game Cappawhite team.
