SHC Semis:
Toomevara 0-17 Loughmore/Castleiney 0-13

Toomevara dethroned Loughmore-Castleiney in the eagerly awaited semi-final at Semple Stadium this afternoon with Toomevara winning by four points. Loughmore took a 3 point lead early on, all from frees before Toomevara eventually got back in to the game, drawing level by the 13th minute. Toomevara had much of the play in the first half but hit some bad wides before eventually taking the lead for the first time in the 28th minute before going on to lead at the interval by 0-9 to 0-7. Toomevara led all through the second half though Loughmore got the deficit down to a point on three separate occasions, including with 5 minutes to go. However, two points from Willie Ryan and one for John O’Brien ensured victory for Toomevara on a scoreline of 0-17 to 0-13.

Thurles Sarsfields 1-14 v Clonoulty/Rossmore 0-17

The other County Senior Hurling semi-final between Thurles Sarsfields and Clonoulty-Rossmore was a close affair throughout. Sarsfields led at the interval by 1-5 to 0-6 thanks to a 28th minute goal by Pa Bourke from a 20 metre free. Sarsfields went four points ahead early in the second half before Clonoulty came back equalise with 12 minutes left. The closing stages were exciting with Sarsfields going in front 3 times only for Clonoulty to come back on each occasion to level the scores and by the final whistle, a draw was a fair result on a scoreline of Thurles Sarsfields 1-14 Clonoulty/Rossmore 0-17. The replay has been fixed for next Sunday at 3:00pm in Semple Stadium. More details of that on Final Score next week.
